The recent NDRI retreat at Chaimale Resort, Kathmandu on February 17, 2024, was an exhilarating event filled with laughter, games, and cherished moments. Bringing together the extended NDRI family along with their loved ones was a day to celebrate togetherness and strengthen bonds. The serene ambiance of Chaimale Resort provided the perfect backdrop for a day of relaxation and enjoyment.

The journey commenced from the NDRI premises, where everyone gathered for departure to the picnic venue. Upon reaching the premises, the group settled down for a wholesome breakfast. The program kicked off with a warm welcome by Dr. Jaya Kumar Gurung, Senior Research Specialist and Lead of the Health, Education, and Environment Program at NDRI, followed by an introductory game led by Dr. Nawa Raj Khatiwada, Senior Research Specialist at NDRI. Participants were paired up, with one introducing the other. This creative initiative saw the team of Ms. Sophiya Shrestha (Senior Research Assistant, NDRI) and Mr. Adhiraj Bahadur Singh (son of Ms. Shreya Bajimaya, Senior Research Associate, NDRI) winning with their adorable charm. One of the highlights of the day was the classic game of Bingo, which saw enthusiastic participation from everyone, including the winners Prof. Dr. Tara Nidhi Bhattarai (Senior Research Specialist, NDRI), Ms. Kajan Bhattarai (spouse of Prof. Dr. Tara Nidhi Bhattarai), Dr. Deependra Rokaya (Senior Research Specialist, NDRI), Mr. Buddha Jyoti Singh (Spouse of Dr. Manjeshwori Singh, Senior Research Specialist, NDRI), Ms. Anjana Lamichhane (Research Associate, NDRI), and Ms. Salisha Raila (Research Associate, NDRI). Alongside the games, a delightful variety of snacks was enjoyed by all. 

Following the games, Dr. Krishna Pahari, President of NDRI, delivered a closing remarks encouraging everyone to sing and dance and opened the floor for amazing freestyle performances. After the fun activities and performances everyone gathered for a delightful lunch. Surrounded by nature's beauty, attendees were able to unwind and immerse themselves in the festivities. Laughter echoed through the air as participants engaged in friendly competition and shared joyous moments. It was heartwarming to witness colleagues and their families come together, forging deeper connections beyond the workplace. As the day concluded, everybody departed for home after a wonderful retreat.
