INTRODUCTION

NDRI is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to address the contemporary and emerging challenges through quality research for evidence based policy and programming. Established in 2004, NDRI comprises of an interdisciplinary team of experts with highest academic standings, and wealth of national and international experiences. NDRI focuses on creating opportunities for research, dialogue and collaboration. NDRI has been able to strengthen linkage between the policy makers, academia, different national and international organizations and a pool of experts. The beneficiaries of NDRI’s activities include political bodies, government institutions, national and international organizations, universities, research institutes and society at large.

With multitude of activities across multiple sectors during almost two decades of existence, NDRI has now evolved as one of the leading think tanks in Nepal. The experience of NDRI in identifying a niche of research on the policy process in Nepal, creating a cross-disciplinary intellectual community across national boundaries, developing externally-funded research projects on partnership basis, capacity building of young researchers, and disseminating research findings provides a solid foundation and potential for taking up greater tasks contributing to overall advancement of the society.
